Celebrating America 250

Located on the north side of Gilmore Road, a quarter mile west of State Road 109, the Morris Gilmore house, built in 1838, holds a significant place in the history of Adams Township. As the first brick house in the township, it has been rightfully designated an Indiana Historic Landmark, a testament to its historical importance.

Alexandria Community Band welcomes Dr. George Killian and Joni for Gershwin concert

Dr. George Killian, Jr., who grew up in Alexandria, and his wife, Joni, will be featured performers with the Alexandria Community Band on Sunday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at the Alexandria First Baptist Church. George is the Chairman of the Music Department at Huntington University, and the worship leader at the Alexandria First Baptist Church. Joni teaches voice and keyboard at Huntington, and both are graduates of Anderson University.
